Barnyard Storytime

I’m SO behind, I know! This month has been absolute craziness at work! I’m doing a lot more programs than I was before so it’s been a bit of a challenge figuring out the best methods (organizational, planning, time managements etc.) for adjusting to the new pace!

But I’m back- and hopefully I will have several more catch up posts up in the next couple weeks.

Super easy! Googled Five little ducks printable,  found this…

And then it became this!

Barnyard | Singin' In The Stacks

Down by the Barn by Will Hillenbrand

Song: Here we go round the big red barn from Perry Public Library. (They have the tune as being “All around the Mulberry Bush” but I think it’s obviously “this is the way we..”)

Here we go round the big red barn, big red barn, big red barn
Here we go round the big red barn, big red barn, big red barn
Here we go round the big red barn so early in the morning
This is the way we milk the cows, milk the cows, …

Add any of these as appropriate:
feed the chickens..
mow the hay..
pet the cat..
chop the wood..
slop the pigs..
plant the seeds..
ride the horse..
(LAST verse)barnyard dance (do-si-do)

Boomwhacker song: Old McDonald

Go to sleep little farm by Mary Lyn Ray

Extras:
Here a chick, where a chick by Suse Macdonald
Chicken chicken duck by Krilanovich
Song: 6 little ducks

Craft: Duck Windsocks

I kid you not. It’s from this post I found on Pinterest.

The easiest way to construct the duck is by doing almost everything before he is rolled into his final, windsock form. This is a sample one I made to show the kids the best technique:
