My name is Rebecca and as the name of the blog suggests, I am both a singer and an early literacy programmer at the library.

Singin' in the Stacks

Before I started working for the library, I got my degree in Vocal Performance and bounced around a series of different gigs as I tried to figure out what I was going to do for a “real job.” I worked for a while as an early childhood music teacher which I LOVED but it couldn’t pay the bills. I currently work for a public library in Maryland where I do Early Literacy programming as well as teach piano and take voice lessons before/after work. I’m very busy!!
I love that I can use my musical background at work and I hope this blog will be a reflection of the joy I put into my programs- and life! 🙂

  1. Great blog! I also have music degrees and am glad to see another musician bringing their musical skills into the library. Keep up the good work!
